Do you not care?
Our sons and our sisters,
our daughters and our fathers.
Do you not care?
The backs bent 24/7
just to survive their days.
Do you not care?
Corruption of prophesy,
division incited in your name.
Do you not care?
The hungry and the poor
trampled by deep-pocketed elite.
Do you not care?
Guns shattering life
in school zones and war zones.
Do you not care?
Lies of love in abuse,
love of lies in halls of power.
Do you not care, Jesus?
Peace. Be Still.
Have you no faith
that I know and I care?
Have you no faith to be one
who stands and rebukes injustice?
How many times I have shared the feelings in your prayer, Rachael — when I am home in time to watch the news, I often wish I had not because of the despair that overwhelms.
Thanks for putting it into words!
Karin
Thank you, Karin.
After the storm …
the picking up the pieces,
the making safe of the fractured,
the living with dents to certainty and the cracks to perfection.
And who cares enough to see, to listen,
to notice the disturbed peace?
The one whose voice of authority carries on the wind of change.
Be still. Peace to you.
