Be gracious to me, O God,
in this flesh of existence,
in this exhilarating dust of life!
Let my soul announce: “I stand to bless the LORD!”
Be gracious to me, O God,
in my daily striving and thriving,
in my soaring and in my falling.
Let my soul sing: “I stand to bless the LORD!”
Be gracious to me, O God,
for the work is unending and
the joys fade like autumn leaves.
Let my soul know: “I stand to bless the LORD!”
Be gracious to me, O God,
for I love deeply if erratically,
failing to care for my neighbor as myself.
Let my soul remember: “I stand to bless the LORD!”
Be gracious to me, O God,
as I fret over fears and powers,
as I long for the uplifting joy of peace.
Let my soul be glad: “I stand to bless the LORD!”
Gracious God
for Your new mercies this morning
I am grateful
Yesterday’s traumatic events linger
But Your truths of
assurance and
strength
the Refuge You are
is a comfort
Your all encompassing care
in the midst of “life”
does not go unnoticed
Stay close this day
Whisper calm over fear
Be strong in my weakness
Build faith out of
yesterday’s dismantling of my soul
Shine hope
as bright as this morning’s sun
In the safe and sure name of Jesus
I pray
Amen
“Build faith out of yesterday’s dismantling”…..such a hope-filled image!
May I stand tall this day.
In the light of your assurance, may I know today that I am I, that I am loved.
May this day be grace-filled, and may this day offer hope to those who need it.
May this day deal fairly with those who stand in the market place and call out for justice.
Graceful and gracious God, we stand before you in our need.
Today, hear our cry.
Thank you for the gift of this prayer, Hilary. I will return to it often!
