Rush upon us.
Overtake and consume us,
O Holy Fire,
until divisions turn to dusty ashes
and walls of pride collapse.
Spill out over us.
Surround and overwhelm us,
O Satisfying Fountain,
until we waste love’s richness
without measuring cost.
Dance among us.
Well up and erupt within us,
O Dynamic Word,
until our tongues know words of peace
and our souls speak reconciliation.
Did you write this prayer? It’s nice. If I copy it for future use I’d like to attribute it correctly.
Interesting that you posted & I happened to see the Wednesday Festival today because 1) I too don’t like fudge (but love chocolate), and 2) I brought your Writing to God book to the parish with me today, considering using it as a prompt to write a blog post. 🙂
Peace, Lori
Aha! Another chocolate-but-not-fudge person! Fantastic! 🙂
Yes, this Pentecost prayer is my writing. Thanks for the attribution when you use it.
I love your new blog title, and I’ll look forward to reading it!
Oh, if you want to post a comment to me. Here is a new blog I’m working on setting up where I can post sermons, public stuff. I had another that’s anonymous, more personal, trying to decide what to do about that one.
