There: a daffodil is budding.
My eyes have seen
There: sisterly love is deepening.
God’s salvation
There: a wounded heart is healing.
for all people
There: a weary soul is dancing.
to the glory of God
There: a new vision is dawning.
and I am at peace.
(on Luke 2:30)
Why is it my eyes are so often closed
to the breadth of Your salvation?
When day after day
here and now
You long to save me
from
taskmasters
grace killers
freedom takers
rest mongers
You open to me
Your storehouse of riches
and reveal
all that is freely given
for me
This day of Sabbath rest
I sleep
weary
and receive
gratefully
salvation
A great list: taskmasters, grace killers, freedom takers, rest mongers! Call ’em out!
Now.
Salvation is now.
With the nodding snowdrops, the soaring red kite, the gathering around the table, the taking of time, the turning around, the holding of a child, the kindness of friends, the conversation across the ages, the sound of laughter and silence, the nearest of loved ones.
Salvation is now.
Salvation in every moment. Amen.
Heavenly Father, I pray for….
Promises made
Promises fulfilled
My eyes are open to your promises, Oh Lord.
Each new life
Each new breath
My eyes are open to your Presence, Oh Lord.
In our seeking
In our receiving
My eyes are open to your Gifts, Oh Lord.
Salvation is one of the many promises you have made;
Salvation is upon us, around us, inside us,
And I only have to say thank you…
Thank you for this lovely, personal gift
from You!
So I say thank you and alleluia!!!
Amen!!!
“My eyes are open” – a great refrain & prayer!
